We love connecting with our customers, partners and friends, and while that’s not possible to do in person this year, for obvious reasons, we are excited to connect virtually at this year’s National Retail Federation’s Big Show kicking off January 12th. The National Retail Federation (NRF) is considered the world’s premier retail group with members from many company types and sub-categories within the retail space including: department stores, specialty, discount, catalog, Internet, and independent retailers, chain restaurants, grocery stores, and multi-level marketing companies.
NRF members also include companies who sell goods and services to retailers, such as vendors and technology providers. The conference has been around for 100+ years and it’s still well attended. In 2020, the conference had more than 300 speakers, 800 exhibitors, 40,000 attendees and 200 sessions.
If you haven’t registered yet, there’s still time. If you’ve already registered, our TaxJar team will be available to answer any questions you may have around sales tax compliance, economic nexus, partnerships, our products, and more, at our virtual booth.
Be sure to check out our Big Ideas session hosted by TaxJar’s CRO, Ryan Thompson titled, “Online shopping & economic nexus: Making – not breaking – your business in 2021 produced by Taxjar”. During this session, Ryan will dive into the impacts of the 2018 Supreme Court ruling, South Dakota vs. Wayfair, and its impact on sales tax compliance to date.
He’ll also touch on tips for retailers interested in becoming or working with marketplace facilitators while diving into the intricacies behind economic nexus thresholds across states. He’ll provide a good starting point for a deeper understanding of economic nexus and he’ll provide steps to help you avoid costly mistakes and save time. To make things a bit easier, here are a couple of key dates to note in your calendar:
- NRF Conference: Jan. 12–14, 19 and 21–22, 2021
- TaxJar’s ‘Big Ideas’ session: 01/14/21 from 1 – 1:30pm EST
We look forward to meeting you next week! Register for NRF’s virtual event here.
